GatherVerse Book Summit

Join in on global expressions at the intersection of emerging technologies and humanity

GatherVerse Book Summit

December 9, 2025

The 38th Global GatherVerse event convenes a new kind of summit: one where we deep dive into the current and future state of books in an age defined by artificial intelligence.

This is a space for authors, researchers, engineers, ethicists, educators, publishers, technologists and readers. We explore what it means to write, publish, and trust books in a time where machine-generated language is flooding the landscape.

We meet to ask direct questions and propose grounded approaches. What happens to human storytelling? What are the standards of authorship? What role should AI play, if any, in literary creation, curation, or education?

The GatherVerse Book Summit creates a commons for collective insight across borders, languages, and disciplines.

Fireside Conversations

  • Intimate, live discussions with authors, technologists, educators, and global thought leaders.

  • These firesides serve as direct encounters with those setting the boundaries of technology and literature.

  • Some have embraced AI. Others resist it. Everyone contributes to the reality we must face.

Human Voices in the Machine Age

  • This session focuses on cultural integrity. Language systems are being trained on vast datasets, but whose voices do they reflect, and whose do they silence?

  • We bring in translators, indigenous language advocates, and historians to examine what cultural preservation looks like in this moment.

  • We examine interactive publishing, audio-native formats, multimodal storytelling, and immersive book technologies.

  • AI intersects with AR, voice tech, and responsive systems to ask: what does a book become when it listens back?

Educators and the AI-Authored Classroom

  • AI is showing up in student papers, lesson plans, and even textbooks.

  • This session is built for teachers, academic publishers, and curriculum designers who need practical frameworks for recognizing, using, or resisting AI-written content in educational materials.
