Bio:
Bio of William Jackson, M.Ed.
William graduated from South Carolina State University earning a Bachelor’s in Education in 1985, furthering his education earning a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University in 2004 with a focus on Educational Technology, Social Media and STEAM.
William’s career involves 33 years in public education and past teaching with NASA as an Internet and technology instructor in collaboration with Edward Waters College in the late 90’s.
He has been a technology consultant with the Florida Department of Education where he taught educational access to the Internet to teachers in Northeast Florida and presented at major conferences in Florida and Georgia.
William is not only an educator in public and higher education, he is also a social media digital evangelist, respected blogger and micro-blogger across social media.
In 2018 William was selected as a Ford Motor Company VIP Blogger Connect Ford Blogger where he travels and blogs on community events sponsored by Ford Motor Company.
William has been involved with WordCamp conferences since 2010 and appreciates the WordCamp community and the “service” the open-source community provides.
He attributes his growth, development and a continued purpose to collaborate, connect and create content to what he has learned and continues to learn while attending, volunteering, sponsoring, organizing, promoting and advocating for the WordPress community.
What his learns he shares with his students in STEAMM instruction of Science Technology Engineering Arts Math Metaverse and project-based learning.
William shares his experiences with students at schools across Jacksonville to inspire learning and paying forward wisdom and knowledge.
They continue to educate locally, nationally and globally.

This talk centers on reminding people about the value and importance of the ability to see the humanity in everyone even as avatars.
The dangers of immersive environments can blind people to the importance of their real selves, their real personalities and their real responsibility to help improve humanity.
The beauty of the Metaverse, immersive environments, digital worlds has the potential to lead people from being human.
Taking their vision away from the physical life of humanity.
Technology must not be allowed to deny humans their ability to be human.
