Laura Brown, Ed.M.
Director of Training & Education, Public Safety – Oracle
Child Safety & Protection Advisor, Co-Chair of XRSI’s Child Safety Initiative.

With over 15 years of experience as a data analyst, policy advisor, learning designer & training leader, Laura’s focus on public safety is centered on risk assessment, de-escalation, and violence prevention through experiential design for at-risk populations.

She is currently Director of Training & Education for Oracle’s Public Safety efforts, equipping local governments with information technology & hands-on training aimed at improving overall safety, situational intelligence & incident management.

Laura has been a safety researcher & peer support within virtual worlds since 2008. In 2022, she joined the XR Safety Initiative as Child Safety & Protection Advisor.

She is a Certified Crisis Intervention Team Coordinator & peer support for adults living with complex trauma & PTSD.
