Bio :
Ms. Hassanatu Blake is a digital health champion and EdTech leader with over 15 years of experience working across multiple sectors.
Currently, she is Director of Health Equity and Social Justice at National Association of City and County Health Officials (NACCHO) in Washington, DC.
In this role, she is working to integrate emerging technology into the organization’s programs.
Prior to joining NACCHO, Hassanatu tackled environmental health inequities in North Birmingham at the City of Birmingham, AL; managed supported PEPFAR HIV programming and public health mission at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Namibia and USAID/GHTECH; and developed and launched management and leadership academy for health professionals in Zambia with BroadReach Healthcare/BRITE.
In addition to her public health work, Hassanatu is passionate about Education Technology and the future of learning. Currently, she is Adjunct Faculty at Tufts University and Brooklyn College and serves as a strategic board member to advise on new immersive technologies in education at Denver Arts + Technology Advancement (DATA).
For over a decade, she also led a global EdTech non-profit organization Focal Point Global, which empowered over 20,000 youth and families in US, The Gambia, South Africa, Namibia, and Cameroon. Currently, she co-hosts a podcast that discusses all things EdTech, including how immersive technology is shaping the field.
Hassanatu holds degrees from Tufts University (B.A.), Emory Rollins School of Public Health (MPH), and Plymouth State University (MBA).
She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a focus on digital health, and health education and promotion.
