Throughout history, new laws and regulations were developed in response to new and disruptive situations that weren’t covered by existing laws. Laws prohibiting stealing, for example, weren’t needed until civilization developed the concept of property ownership.
That’s where we find ourselves today when it comes to XR.
Technology is developing at lightning speed, and regulators around the globe are trying to keep up. But it will take years for laws and protection mechanisms to catch up — and, by then, things will probably have changed even more. Unfortunately, organizations, governments, and citizens are facing serious risks now.
As we undertake developments that will result in the metaverse, we need to consider safety, privacy, and inclusivity today — not after we’ve had a year or two to see how this all plays out.
This session will discuss digital transformation towards the metaverse across industries and successful tactics for dealing with risks and opportunities.
Real-world case studies will be included to point out new strategies and tactics that we must adapt to keep citizens and society safe and protected.
